So last week I was featured on the tumblr radar for my Harvey Pekar illustration. I don’t know how things get on the radar but a huge thanks to whoever makes those decisions! I suddenly gained a ton of followers over night as a result and you’ve been steadily flowing in for the past week. I’ve received some really great messages off some of you and I feel like I should be posting more work to justify it.
I promised myself that I wouldn’t post any more work until I actually had something finished, but I’ve been working so slowly recently that if I don’t post any in progress images then I wont have much to post at all, and I don’t just want to knock something lazy out or post something old just for the sake of it.
So here’s an update of the one that I’ve posted a couple of times, the first in a planned series. Hopefully it should be done before long. And also here’s today’s work on the second in that series. I’ll release more info soon and I’ll definitely try to post more regularly.
An old drawing of Harvey Pekar that I just found on my computer. I drew it the day he passed away.
Pen and ink.
Some progress. I got this far just over a week ago and have been on an impromptu holiday of sorts since. I couldn’t justify taking such a big panel and all my painting stuff with me so I had to go without. Despite the sun, being away from drawing or painting always makes my skin crawl a bit so I’m pretty happy to be back working on it.
I decided that I’m going to make this blog a bit more personal too. So less inspiration, more art and maybe some art-related rambling. Maybe I’ll start a separate blog where I can catalogue my inspiration.
